Roundtable Spotlight: Driving Practical Action on Gender Equity
Ben Lambert, committed CEO for Gender Equity and Managing Director – WA & NT at Aurecon, recently convened a roundtable of leaders from his network for an open, solutions-focused discussion on advancing gender equity in the workplace.
These roundtables provide a critical forum for CEOs to share the realities they face, the progress they’re making, and the lessons they’re learning — creating momentum and inspiring action across industries.
Participants engaged in honest, practical dialogue on the changes needed to build more inclusive and equitable organisations. Key takeaways included:
Prioritising culture add over culture fit to build truly diverse and inclusive teams
Tapping into return-to-work parents as an often-overlooked talent pool
Proactively calculating and sharing gender pay gap data, even in the absence of legislative requirements
Establishing ‘listening rooms’ for employees to engage with and reflect on anonymous staff feedback
Leaders visibly embracing flexibility, including parenting and caring responsibilities
Ensuring those promoted are set up for success with clear, structured support
Actively challenging the status quo across leadership practices and organisational culture
Thank you to all who joined the conversation and contributed with openness and insight. It is through these exchanges that we begin to shift norms, reimagine leadership, and build enduring change.
